DIY Face Oil for your Skin

DIY Face Oil for your Skin

Face oils provide your skin with the vital oils it craves, making them an excellent method to keep your face looking young and nourished. Natural oils quickly penetrate the skin and protect its lipid barrier, keeping moisture from evaporating out of the skin and safeguarding the skin's moisture barrier. Dead skin cells linked together by lipids make up the stratum corneum, the top layer of your skin (or oils.) Your skin will be protected from the elements and will have a wonderful healthy, moisturised glow if this layer is consistently nourished with healthy oils.

They are regarded as noncomedogenic because they don't have any additional fillers, waxes, or chemicals like many facial creams and lotions, which means they won't produce buildup or clogged pores.

Face oils, which are made with a carrier oil and essential oils (more on that below), can be tailored to all skin types, whether you have mature skin that needs anti-aging ingredients to minimise wrinkles, have uneven skin with hyperpigmentation or are blemish-prone with acne (or acne scars) and oily skin.As we previously said, carrier oils and essential oils are combined to create facial oils.

While essential oils are extracted from the flowers, leaves, bark, stems, and roots of plants, carrier oils are made from the fatty parts of plants, nuts, and seeds.

Organic argan oil, which absorbs quickly and is excellent for anti-aging, grapeseed oil, which is light and perfect for oily skin, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, and coconut oil are among the best carrier oils for skincare (high in antioxidants and Vitamin E, but, fair warning, can break certain skin types out).

We chose sweet almond oil for this recipe because it is rich in proteins, minerals, and vitamin E and is therefore a very moisturising option for dry skin. And Jojoba Oil, which mimics the natural oil/sebum production of our skin, is effective for almost all skin types and leaves skin moisturised without a heavy shine. However, as this is a personalised formula, you can choose the oil that is best for your skin or the skin type of the recipient of your present. Let us dispel this persistent myth for you before you run away shouting that oil causes skin to itch.

One essential oil or a dozen could be added to this mixture, at your discretion. However, starting with 1-2 and experimenting from there after observing how your skin responds can help you identify which oil led to which outcome.

No matter what you choose, we advise using 5–15 drops of essential oils per ounce of carrier oil.
