Brightening Sepiwhite Lotion

Sepiwhite is widely used to whiten and brighten skin. It is ECOCERT certified which
means it can be used in natural products. It is known to lighten dark spots and brighten skin after consistent use. You can add glutathione 0.2% along with sepiwhite for quicker results

About the ingredients:

• 1,3 Propanediol is a humectant with lighter feel. It keeps skin hydrated.
• Hyaluronic acid is also a humectant. It gives a nicer feel to the skin and also helps in consistency of the product.
• Grapeseed oil is light oil which suits many skin types, doesn’t cause acne and doesn’t leave oily residue. This can be replaced with natural silicones.
• Olivem 1000 is a natural emulsifier. It can be used as a sole emulsifier without any co-emulsifiers.Olivem 1000 is one pot emulsifier which means both oil and water phase ingredients can be added to it.
• Green tea extract adds skin soothing and anti-inflammatory benefits.
• Fragrance oil of choice can be added. This can be skipped as well since this has a slightly neutral fragrance.
• Euxyl PE 9010 is a broad spectrum preservative which works best even at pH 6.
• Sepiwhite is a skin brightening ingredient when used in combination with other brighteners work fast. It is compatible with wide range of ingredients and at wider pH levels. It is ECOCERT certified.
• Tranexamic acid is also a brightening ingredient which can be incorporated in wide range of products and is compatible with other brighteners.

Ingredients required:

Phase A:
1,3 Propanediol 3%
Hyaluronic acid 0.1%

Phase B:
Olivem 1000 5%
Grapeseed Oil 10%

Phase C:
Water 77.7%
Tranexamic acid 2%
Sepiwhite 0.2%

Phase D:
Green Tea extract 0.5%
Fragrance Oil 0.5%
Euxyl PE 9010 1%

Equipment required:
Pump Bottles
100ml glass beakers
Steel or Glass Stirring rods and Spatulas
Heating mantle or Double boiler
Weighing scale (that measures up to 0.01g)
Cups to measure ingredients
Gloves
Head cap
Eye goggles/ glasses

Procedure:

1. Measure Phase A ingredients. Stir and mix HA in 1,3 Propanediol. This helps in dissolving better.
2. Measure Phase B and Phase C ingredients.
3. Pour all in Phase A and heat on a double boiler.
4. Blend it using blender in short intervals till everything is mixed well and consistency is lotion like.
5. Add Phase D ingredients once cooled down.
6. Blend it again.
7. Check the pH and adjust to 6.2 since this works with both Sepiwhite and Tranexamic acid.

Usage:
This can be used daily as part of night routine. But sunscreen with SPF 30 and above is must when using brightening products.
