Our carnauba wax is a vegetable wax obtained from the fronds of the carnauba palm of Brazil. Carnauba wax, valued among natural waxes for its hardness and high melting temperature, is used as a vegan food-grade polish as well as a hardening or gelling agent in a variety of goods. It is also used as an element in cosmetics, and as an artistic medium in encaustic painting.

BENEFITS AND APPLICATIONS-
- Carnauba wax is used in automotive waxes, shoe polishes, dental floss, culinary goods (such as sweets), musical instrument polishes, and floor and furniture waxes and polishes, particularly when combined with beeswax and turpentine.
- Our carnauba wax is used in art materials as a binder in wax paints and as a stabiliser in oil paints to give them substance.
- It is considered a better and more natural alternative to mineral-based petroleum jelly.

HOW IT WORKS-
- It works by using its crystalline structure to bind solvents or oils together.
- It also creates a protective layer that prevents the sweating-out of the compositions.
CONCENTRATION AND SOLUBILITY-
- It is recommended that it should be used at a concentration of 1 to 3%.
- It is insoluble in water and ethyl alcohol but is soluble in oils.
HOW TO USE-
- Heat the water and oil phases of your formulation separately to about 80 to 86°C.
- Use a double boiler pot to melt our carnauba wax into the heated oil phase and heat it until the wax is completely melted.
- Before the oil phase cools down, add a few spoons of our coconut or olive oil.
- Blend both the phases together using a mini-mixer until a homogenous mixture is obtained.
