How to Use
Cut base into small cubes. Melt in a microwave (30-second bursts) or double boiler. Once melted, cool slightly to 60–65°C before adding fragrance, colour, or additives (up to 2–3% by weight). Pour into moulds and allow to set at room temperature. Unmould after 1–2 hours. Wrap in shrink wrap or cling film immediately to prevent sweating.

Q: Is this soap base suitable for sensitive or baby skin?
A: Yes. It is free from sulphates, parabens, and artificial preservatives, making it suitable for sensitive, dry, and mature skin. For baby products, we recommend keeping fragrance additions below 1% and doing a patch test first.
Q: Can I add extra goat milk powder to boost the milk content?
A: Yes. Add up to 1–2% goat milk powder after melting and before pouring. Stir well to avoid clumping. Higher additions may affect the bar's appearance and longevity, so test in small batches first.
Q: What fragrances and colours can I use with this base?
A: Any cosmetic-grade melt and pour fragrance or essential oil at up to 2–3%. For colours, use soap-safe liquid colours or micas at up to 0.5%. Avoid water-based colours as they can cause separation.
Q: Can I use this base for shampoo bars?
A: It works for mild shampoo bar applications, particularly for dry or damaged hair. For high-lather shampoo bars, you may want to blend it with a transparent glycerine base.
Q: How many soap bars does 1 kg make?
A: Approximately 8–10 bars of 100 g each, depending on your mould size.
Q: Does this base sweat or develop dew on the surface?
A: Glycerin-based melt and pour bases can attract moisture from humid air. Always wrap finished bars in shrink wrap or airtight packaging immediately after setting, especially in Indian climates.
Q: What is the difference between this and the Shea Butter base?
A: The Goat Milk base has a higher protein content from real milk, making it especially beneficial for dry, sensitive, or ageing skin. The Shea Butter base is richer in fatty acids and better suited for intense moisturisation and winter skin care. Both are sulphate free and can be blended together.
Q: Can I add neem powder, turmeric, or other botanicals?
A: Yes, herbal powders can be added at 0.5–2%. Mix in just before pouring. Note that botanicals like turmeric will affect the final colour of your bar.
Q: Is this base vegan?
A: No — it contains real goat milk, which is an animal-derived ingredient. If you need a fully vegan base, our Transparent Glycerine or Shea Butter bases are vegan-friendly.
