Eucalyptus oil is available as an essential oil that is used as a medicine to treat a variety of common diseases and conditions including nasal congestion, asthma, and as a tick repellant. Diluted eucalyptus oil may also be applied to the skin as a remedy for health problems such as arthritis and skin ulcers. Eucalyptus is used for its soothing effects when inhaled, for example during a cold or cough. While these oils are considered stimulating, they're recommended for bedtime diffusion if you have congestion or feel a cold coming on. They'll clear your nasal passage while you sleep – and keep you away from snoring, too.
