Calcium Sulphate Dihydrate/Gypsum
Rs. 90.00
Calcium sulphate dehydrates (Gypsum) repairs salt-affected soils, helps regulate salty irrigation flows, offers calcium and sulphur as crop nutrients, and enhances soil structure as a soil amendment and crop nutrition source.
Molecular Formulae- CaSO4
Alternative Names- Gypsum
BENEFITS AND APPLICATIONS-
- Calcium sulphate dehydrate has been shown to alter the structure and physical state of soils in a variety of ways.
- It helps with aeration and permeability.
- It, with the transition from tiny particles to larger aggregates, provides for higher water and nutrient absorption into the soil.
- It helps minimise surface crusting in finer soils that are prone to crusting due to rainfall or irrigation, hence keeping more stable aggregates.
HOW IT WORKS-
- It works by providing a variety of pore sizes to give roots vital oxygen because of improved aeration and root penetration, allowing plants to absorb more nutrients and water for better growth.
- It works by enhancing the activity of soil organisms that decompose organic debris and dead plant matter to increase the binding capability of soil particles, which stabilises the soil structure.
TIME OF APPLICATION-
- It can be spread at any time of the year.
- Just one application is required per year to increase the fertility of the soil.
RECOMMENDED USAGE-
- For mixing, the recommended usage is 2%.
- For powder application, 15-25 kg/acre.
HOW TO USE-
- For bare or unplanted soil, use 2 to 3 pounds per 100 square feet.
- Apply compost such as pine straws, leaves, etc., and mix with the gypsum while working it into the soil.
- Sprinkle some water on your lawn or garden to water the gypsum into the soil.
