Avobenzone SPF
Rs. 250.00
Avobenzone is often used in physical sunscreens to block the entire spectrum of UV-A radiation and is characterized as 'unstable.' When exposed to light, the component destabilizes on its own. To address this, avobenzone is frequently combined with additional chemicals such as Mexoryl to stabilize it.
INCI Name- Butyl Methoxy Dibenzoyl Methane
Molecular Formulae- C20H22O3
Purity of the Ingredients- 99%
Country of Origin- India
BENEFITS AND APPLICATIONS-
- As a sunscreen, it offers broad-spectrum UV protection, especially from short-wave UV-A radiation.
- Sunscreen with avobenzone can give real protection against UVA wavelengths longer than 360 nanometers.
- In its photostable condition, avobenzone can retain its photoprotective qualities while also aiding in the prevention of the development of reactive oxygen species, which can cause photo deterioration in skincare products.
- It aids in the prevention of sunburn and premature aging, such as wrinkles and leathery skin.
- Sunscreens can also assist in reducing the incidence of skin cancer and sunburn-like UV sensitivity induced by some drugs.
- Avobenzone is widely used as a photo-initiator to activate a chemical that dries ink faster and can leach from food packaging.
HOW IT WORKS-
- It works by forming a protective layer on the top of the skin to protect it from harmful sun rays.
- The protective layer works by absorbing the harmful UV-A and UV-B rays and then scattering them.
CONCENTRATION AND SOLUBILITY-
- It is recommended that it should be used at a concentration of 1–3%.
- It is insoluble in water but soluble in oils, dilute acids, and bases.
HOW TO USE-
- Prepare the oil and water phases of your formulation separately.
- Heat the oil and water phase using a double boiler.
- Add our Avobenzone to the oil phase, accompanied by constant stirring.
- Blend both the phases together using a mini-mixer or a large mixing brush.
