- It's used to make iridescent glass, bright paint, strontium oxide, and strontium salts, as well as sugar refinement and some medications.
- It is commonly used as a glazed element in the ceramics industry. It functions as a flux and changes the color of some metallic oxides.
- It's also used to make strontium ferrites, which are permanent magnets found in loudspeakers and door magnets.
