Cadmium Oxide
Rs. 200.00
Cadmium oxide is an inorganic chemical that serves as the primary source of other cadmium compounds. It can be found in cadmium plating baths, storage battery electrodes, cadmium salts, catalysts, porcelain glazes, phosphors, and nematicide. Cadmium oxide is commonly used in electroplating pools, optoelectronic devices, and paints.
Molecular Formulae- CdO
Alternative Names- Cadmium (II) Oxide, Cadmium Monoxide
Country of Origin- India
BENEFITS AND APPLICATION-
- In silver-zinc storage batteries, high purity cadmium oxide is employed as a second polarizer (together with silver oxide).
- Cadmium oxide is used to improve the high-temperature characteristics and heat resistance of nitrile rubber and polymers such as Teflon.
- It's a starting material for PVC heat stabilizers and other Cd compounds, as well as a cadmium supply in cyanide electroplating baths.
- Cadmium oxide thin films have been utilized in photodiodes, phototransistors, photovoltaic cells, transparent electrodes, liquid crystal displays, infrared detectors, and anti-reflective coatings.
- It is used as an inorganic pigment in ceramics and glassmaking, among other things.
