How to Use
Cut base into small cubes. Melt in a microwave (30-second bursts) or double boiler. Once melted, cool slightly to 60–65°C before adding fragrance, colour, or additives (up to 2–3% by weight). Pour into moulds and allow to set at room temperature. Unmould after 1–2 hours. Wrap in shrink wrap immediately to prevent sweating.
Ideal For
Ultra-premium soap bars, very dry and mature skin formulations, luxury gift sets, high-end hotel amenities, winter skin care lines, and artisan clean beauty brands.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What makes this base different from the single Shea Butter base?
A: The Triple Butter base contains three distinct butters — shea, cocoa, and mango — each contributing different fatty acid profiles and skin benefits. Shea provides anti-inflammatory nourishment, cocoa adds a protective moisture seal, and mango butter contributes lightweight softening without greasiness. Together they deliver a more comprehensive conditioning experience than any single butter alone.
Q: Is this the richest / most moisturising base in the range?
A: Yes — with three butters plus almond and jojoba oils, this is the most intensely conditioning base in the ASES soap base range. It is best suited for very dry, mature, or winter-stressed skin.
Q: Will the high butter content affect lather?
A: Butters naturally moderate foam volume — you will get a rich, creamy lather rather than a high-volume bubbly foam. If higher lather is important, blend up to 20–30% transparent glycerine base into your batch.
Q: Can I blend this with the Goat Milk or Transparent base?
A: Yes, all ASES bases are compatible and can be blended freely. Triple Butter + Goat Milk (50:50) makes an excellent ultra-nourishing bar for mature or very dry skin. Triple Butter + Transparent (70:30) gives a semi-opaque bar with better lather.
Q: What fragrances and colours work well with this base?
A: The creamy ivory base pairs well with warm, rich fragrances — vanilla, sandalwood, rose, jasmine, or cocoa. For colours, pastels and earth tones show beautifully. Add colourant at 0.1–0.5% and fragrance at up to 2–3%.
Q: Can I add additional raw butters like kokum or mango butter?
A: Small additions (0.5–1%) of refined solid butters can be stirred in after melting and before pouring. Quantities beyond 1–2% risk separation or a greasy bar surface — test in small batches first.
Q: How many soap bars does 1 kg make?
A: Approximately 8–10 bars of 100 g each, depending on your mould size and any additives.
Q: Is this base suitable for baby skin?
A: The butters and mild surfactants make it very gentle. For baby products, keep fragrance additions below 1% and do a patch test. The absence of sulphates and parabens makes it suitable for delicate skin.
Q: Is this base vegan?
A: Yes — shea, cocoa, and mango butters are all plant-derived. No animal-derived ingredients are used in this base.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity?
A: 1 kg. Bulk pricing is available at 5 kg and 20 kg slabs — see variant options above.
