Geranyl Acetate – Fresh Rosy-Fruity Aroma Chemical
Geranyl acetate (C12H20O2) is the acetate ester of geraniol. It occurs naturally in geranium, palmarosa, citronella, lemongrass and coriander oils, and is one of the most widely used ingredients in rose, lavender and citrus fragrances. It has a fresh, sweet, floral-fruity odour with rosy, lavender-like and slightly pear-like notes — softer and fruitier than geraniol itself.
